Death Point Shootout, a 2 day 10 stage match to be held on June 27-28, 2008.

Today we quickly recognize the names of outlaws that passed through this area on their way north to "Hole in the Wall" or south to "Robbers Roost". The route that they used became known as the "Outlaw Trail". The outlaws that traveled through this area were wanted for crimes committed in several states including Utah. The Outlaw Trail is a vast area starting in the southern portion of Utah extending into Wyoming. The outlaws that passed through were believed to be members of the "Wild Bunch". The Wild Bunch has been given credit for crimes committed in the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. After robbery they would head for Hole in the Wall or Robbers Roost, to lay low and let things cool down. It was a hard country that they hid in. Posses had a difficult time following them. The outlaws were active for about 20 years. Some were gunned down early in their outlaw career, others imprisoned , some changed their ways and became law abiding citizens.
Death Point Shootout is based on three separate shoot outs that took place in this area, along the Outlaw Trail.
May 13th, 1898- Outlaws Joe Walker and Johnny Herring are ambushed and killed by a posse.
April 17th, 1900- Flat Nose George Currie is killed by a posse.
May 26th, 1900- Sheriff Jesse Tyler and Deputy Sam Jenkins are killed by Kid Curry.
The Outlaw era was slowly coming to an end. By 1912 the last of the outlaws (that had continued their outlaw ways) known to travel the trail were killed in a failed robbery attempt in Texas.
Matt Warner the last of the outlaws, who later became a lawmen dies in Price, Utah in 1938.
In October, 2008 we will host the Battle At Buckskin Hills "Shoot Out Cancer", to benefit another great Cancer organization.
