Cowboy Shooting

News

July 2011

Howdy Friends,

Thanks to all that showed up and participated in the June monthly shoot. There was a great turn out and everyone seemed to enjoy shooting cowboy action stages and wild bunch stages.

Congratulations to our club shooters who participated in the Hobble Creek Wrangler Annual Evil Roy Shoot. The Evil Roy shoot has always been a fun shoot to attend. Everyone dresses up like Evil Roy and tries to shoot like him as well.

Cinch – 1st Place Overall at the Hobble Creek Wranglers Evil Roy Shoot
In-Cahoots – 2nd Place in her Category and 8th Place overall at the Hobble Creek Wranglers Evil Roy Shoot
It is great to see both of these shooters do so well. I’m sure Emery was cheering them on.

June 2011

Howdy Friends,

First of all let me say sorry in the delay getting this out to you.  This Colorado Honey has been down and out for several weeks and finally feeling a little better. So many things that were on my “to do” list, got put on my “don’t do” list until I got better.

Enough said.  Let’s talk about our wonderful club members.  We had a great showing at the Utah State Black Powder Shoot in Price. Congratulations to the following:
Cuz M Dutch – 1st Place F.C. Classic Cowboy
Red Desert Fox – 2nd Place F.C. Gunfighter
Lit’l Will – 2nd Place FC Senior

We also had a great turn out for the shoot in Craig, Colorado “Where the Old West Stayed Young” Congratulations to the following:
Cinch – 1st Place Duelist
Alpheus Tyner – 1st Place Cowboy
Red Desert Fox – 1st Place Gunfighter
Pecker Bird – 4th Place Gunfighter
Red Desert Vixen – 1st Place Lady Silver Senior
Red Desert Fox took 1st place in the side match for Long range rifle big bore lever 8/28.37 and 1st place in Pistol Caliber Rifle 5/9.15
(In-Cahoots, baby Emery and Captain Pah-rank were there but unable to shoot due to illness. However, they cheered the Diamond Mountain Rustlers on)

I got a call from Book Cliff Sally the other day, she was excited to let us know that the 2012 State Shoot will be held in Price. The Territorial Governors voted between Salt Lake, St. George and Price and Price was the winner. We will have to get the inside story from Cinch our Territorial Governor.  Congratulations to Price. The 2011 Utah State shoot is just around the corner, July 14-16th. Entry deadline is June 15th. For more information you can go to their website at www.thecastlegateposse.net .

Saturday, June 4th – Long Range Shooting – Cinch, In-Cahoots and Indian Agent got some shooting in.
The “Practice Shoot” went well, Hat Pin Rose, Blaze Carson, Lit’l Will, Slow Draw Lefty and Colorado Honey kept practicing to see if we could hit those flyers.  The practice shoot is for anyone just wanting to get some extra shooting in and practice. No worries about keeping score, just work on what you want to work on and enjoy the day.
